The Delaware Museum of Natural History, 4840 Kennett Pike (Route 52), Wilmington, DE
(http://www.delmnh.org/) opened to the public in 1972 to excite and inform people about the natural world through exploration and discovery. Its research collections have a strong emphasis on birds and mollusks (shells), reflecting the original collection interests of the founder, John E. du Pont. As the only natural history museum in the state, the Museum welcomes more than 65,000 visitors each year. The Foundation was proud to provide a significant general purposes grant to the Museum.
