We were pleased to present a matching grant to Inter-Faith Housing Alliance, located in Ambler, Pennsylvania. They provide opportunities for families to achieve self-sufficiency by offering community-based programs designed to bridge homelessness and independence. In 1995, Inter-Faith Housing Alliance (www.i-fha.org) opened an eight-unit transitional housing apartment building in Ambler, called Hope Gardens, where families can live for up to two years to heal and gain the tools they need to become self-sufficient. During their stay there, they receive comprehensive support services to help ensure their long-term success, including intensive case management, life skills education, basic needs support, and aftercare. Due to the age of the building, a capital improvement campaign was undertaken to upgrade Hope Gardens. Quest for the Best was pleased to provide a grant to assist in the purchase of eight exterior apartment doors, the main entry door, and replacement of hardware and locks on each new door. Not only do the doors look nice, and function smoothly, but they also improve security and energy efficiency.
