For the fifth consecutive year, Quest for the Best is partnering with Lifetime Wells International, to improve the quality of life for those without access to clean drinking water. Since 2006, LWI has drilled over 2,537 wells for the people of Ghana and Tanzania. Once again, Quest for the Best has provided a grant for the purchase of hand pumps that are installed in the communities to ease the access to water. Easier access to clean water not only reduces disease, it also increases the ability for children (especially girls) to stay in school. Less time fetching water means more time to work, increasing productivity and income. Through partnerships, Lifetime Wells employs experts that are local to these impoverished areas and utilizes their expertise in drilling, mechanics, program coordination and support. By engaging with and empowering communities to maintain safe and reliable water systems, LWI is cultivating the sustainability of the water source.
