Founded in 1905, KenCrest is a nonprofit organization that provides services to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Connecticut. Quest for the Best provided a grant to KenCrest to assist the organization in the purchase of a Ford Transit T150 handicapped accessible van which can transport up to two wheelchair-dependent clients and four additional passengers. The van will be used at the Yellow Springs facility, a vocational training center in Malvern, Pennsylvania. This facility provides supported employment services for youth and adults with disabilities, as well as training in social skills, career exploration, computer skills and food services. The van will help transition the segregated employment program to a community-inclusive program, and give KenCrest the ability to take its clients into the community for volunteer, employment and social opportunities.
